On the19th of February 2001, headed by Vice President Moto Iue, a senior Sanyo delegation visited Changhong.

On the 8th of December 2000, a PDP color TV production line was finished, which was designed, manufactured and installed by Changhong independently. This also turned a new page in the color TV manufacturing history of China.

On the 18th of December 2000, Changhong acquired the Sanrong Air-conditioner Manufacturing Co. Ltd in Zhongshan, Guangdong Province.

On the 23rd of March 2000, the largest environmentaly-friendly Battery-manufacturing Park in China was completed by Changhong.

On the 8th of May 1999, A Changhong color TV production line was set up in Russia.

On the 2nd of April 1999, Vice President Ben Heineman of GE Electric Co. USA paid a visit to Changhong.

In January 1999, Ni Runfeng, CEO of Changhong, was honored as NO. 1 among China Home Appliances Celebrities.

On the 18th of August 1998, Changhong and Toshiba signed an agreement to establish a cooperative relationship in the research and development of air-conditioners.

On the 9th of July 1998, Changhong and Toshiba started a cooperative project in the research and development of batteries.

On the 18th of May 1998, the Sichuan Changhong Building was completed in Shanghai.

In February 1998, Sichuan Changhong Battery Manufacturing Co., Ltd launched its business operation.

In February 1998, Vice President Masayuki Matsushita of Panasonic visited Changhong.

On the 4th of September 1997, Jiangsu Changhong launched its business operation.

In August 1997, Changhong was appointed as one of the six State Tested Enterprises for Technological Innovation by the Economic and trade Commission of the State Council.

In August 1997, headed by President Taizo Nishimuro, a Panasonic delegation paid a visit to Changhong.

On the 7th of May 1997, Jilin Changhong started its business operation.

By November 1995, Changhong had produced and sold a total amount of 10,000,000 color TV sets.

On the 11th of March 1994, Changhong stock was admitted to be listed in the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

In March 1988, Changhong instituted reforms in its ownership status and altered its' name to become the Sichuan Changhong Electric Co., Ltd.

In August 1986, the first color TV assembly line was introduced from Panasonic and the first color TV manufacturing building was completed in Changhong.

In March 1985, the first Changhong color TV in China was tested and appraised by the Ministry of Electronic Industry and since then Changhong has started to produce color TVs on a massive scale.
